"The city’s attorney and the attorney for the Miller Pond neighborhood agreed Thursday and to schedule a trial of the lawsuit filed by the residents against the city by year’s end.
The city agreed to postpone its plans to turn off the water until the case can go to court."

Duke Energy would consider buying a piece of the V.C. Summer nuclear plant Scana is building with Santee Cooper if Santee Cooper decides to sell part of its share.

Duke’s CFO Lynn Good, speaking Tuesday at an electric and gas leaders conference in New York, said Duke has not been approached about a partnership in the plant. But Duke would consider it.
“We believe regional cooperation is absolutely the way to go,” she said. “I think we would look at a share of the plant, if it became available.”

"The Oceana study said that North Carolina has the largest offshore wind capacity — 37.9 gigawatts, or enough to power 12.8 million homes. That's more energy than the state needs — or 112 percent of its need, according to the report.

It estimated South Carolina could get about 64 percent of its electricity from wind, or enough to power 5.9 million homes. Florida could get 16 percent of its electricity from wind, enough to replace its use of oil for electricity."
